About Sandi

My name is Sandi and I now live in Bruton after moving (March 2012) from London where I lived for over 20 years.

I have 18 years experience as a driving instructor, seven of which I franchised as a fully qualified AA driving instructor. Due to moving I have set up as an independent instructor and I have a brand new  2020 Ford Focus Titanium 1.0L EcoBoost Petrol manual dual controlled car for you to learn in.

I am a GRADE A DVSA fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

I am committed to giving my pupils the skills and confidence to pass their driving tests no matter at what level they start from. I am friendly, patient, reliable, enthusiastic and with a contagious fun spirit in an easy learning atmosphere.

I have a higher than average pass rate and consequently a lot of my pupils recommend me to their friends and family.

What others are saying about Sandi

“Aubrey passed his driving test this morning! Thank you so much for all the time and care you have given to teaching 5 of our 7 children. You have done a brilliant job! Xx” – Sarah Clark

“Thank you so much for today Sandi and for all your teaching. You have been a lovely teacher and it seems strange we won’t see you now. Hope you get some deserved time off soon. All the best and thanks again” – Mrs Pat King

“I just want to say that I really appreciate everything you did for me…your patience, guidance, understanding & above all you cared. You are someone who made an impact in my life who I’ll never forget.” – Matthew Holden

“I have had regular driving lessons with Sandi in Glastonbury, she is a very capable, personable teacher. Each lesson is specially tailored to my requirements and I have enjoyed developing my skills with Sandi. I appreciate the ongoing support and motivation she gives. I will take my test soon.” – Matt Witt

“Sandi was a great driving teacher. She consistently found time for lessons for me, so that I could progress from being a six years out-of-practice learner to a qualified driver in a short time. Her car is very pleasant to drive and she had a good ability to identify the areas of my driving I was struggling with. After her help and some independent practice, I now feel like a skilled and safe driver. Importantly, she is a nice person to spend many hours driving with and talking to too!” – Oliver Carroll

LATEST UPDATE from DVSA
Restarting driving lessons and tests in England and Wales
The UK Government has confirmed in recent announcements that lockdown restrictions can be eased as planned in England and Wales.

This means driver, rider and vocational lessons and tests will restart in line with the indicative dates we previously shared with you.

Driving lessons will restart on 12 April and driving tests 10 days later on 22 April. Fleet training and testing will also restart on 12 April.

Test ready
We'll email candidates with car practical tests booked from the 22 April to let them know their tests will go ahead.

Restarting lessons ten days ahead of tests will give you the chance to provide your pupils with professional refresher training before they take their test. We know many of you wanted the opportunity to carry out lessons and training before we restart driving tests and we agree with this, so do the National Association of Strategic Partners (NASP)

Theory tests
Theory tests will restart in England and Wales on 12 April 2021. We’ll email all candidates with theory tests booked before 12 April to ask them to reschedule their suspended test.

Plans are in place to open new temporary theory test centres and increase opening times at the majority of theory test centres. We will write to you later this week with more information.

Mobile emergency worker tests
Practical and theory tests for mobile emergency workers which have already been booked will still take place as scheduled.

Scotland
The Scottish Government has announced that driving lessons can potentially restart on 26 April, if coronavirus restrictions are lifted in Scotland as proposed. Theory tests will also restart from this date. Practical tests will restart 10 days later on 6 May, if restrictions are lifted on 26 April.

Chief Executive Letter
DVSA Chief Executive Loveday Ryder will be writing to you again this week to provide further information to help you and pupils prepare for the restart of lessons and tests.

Update from the DVSA - Restarting driving lessons and tests in England

Following the publication of the roadmap out of national lockdown on 22 February, we have been working with government and stakeholders to agree the indicative restart dates of all our driver, rider and vocational testing services.

We have set these dates out below. Depending on the outcome of the government review of roadmap measures on 5 April, we’ll write to you again shortly afterwards to confirm if lessons and tests can restart on these dates.

We aren’t able to confirm dates until after the review on 5 April, but we want to share these proposals with you now to help you plan for reopening your businesses and to start teaching again.

You can read more about stopping the spread of coronavirus on GOV.UK

Restarting driving lessons and tests

The proposed date for you to restart driving lessons and training is Monday 12 April 2021.

We know many of you want the opportunity to carry out lessons and training before we restart driving tests and we agree with this.

Therefore tests are due to restart 10 days later on Thursday 22 April, if government guidance allows.

The safety of our customers and examiners is our top priority. Closer to the restart date we will work with Public Health England to review and check our standard operating procedures. We'll let you know the outcome of these discussions closer to the time.

In the meantime, your pupils can continue to practise driving with an accompanying driver from within their household, as long as it’s part of an essential journey. We will update learner drivers and approved driving instructors when this changes.

We have shared our guidance for driving examiners with driver training associations and they have updated their good practice guidance for instructors. Links to good practice guidance are included in the instructor guidance on GOV.UK.

Driving test bookings

We'll email candidates with tests booked before 22 April to let them know their test will be rescheduled.

We’ll email you with the new time and date as soon as possible; please ask your pupils to bear with us.

If the new time and date is not suitable for you or your pupil, you can choose a different time and date on GOV.UK. You will need your pupil’s driving licence number to do this. Your pupil does not need to pay again to do this.

We know pupils with tests booked between 12 and 22 April will be disappointed. But it’s important that candidates have adequate time to practise with a professional instructor before they come to test.

Restarting lessons ten days ahead of tests will give you chance to provide your pupils with professional refresher training before they take their test. This approach is supported by the National Associations Strategic Partnership (NASP).
